Since 2018, PennEnvironment has helped more than a dozen Pennsylvania municipalities write, introduce, and pass legislation tackling single-use plastics. Plastic bags and other single-use plastics end up in landfills, incinerators, or our environment, where they can last for hundreds of years, if not longer, harming wildlife, waterways, and our health. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University.ĭorchester County Administrator, Jason L. Havir holds a Certification in Community Planning from the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is a licensed professional land planner. Havir will assist the County Administrator by providing coordinated leadership of the Community Services Departments, which include: Building Services, Neighborhood Services (Code Enforcement, Animal Control, and Mosquito Abatement), Parks and Recreation, and Planning & Zoning. Havir served as the Township Manager for Cheltenham Township in Pennsylvania for seven years.

Before joining Team Dorchester County, Mr. Havir brings with him over 25 years of management experience in local government. Havir joined Team Dorchester County as the Assistant Administrator of Community Services on Monday, February 8, 2021.
